LAGOS, NIGERIA
INT. THE MARTINS – DAY
Winifred is watching TV.
IN THE TV – A TRAILER - Clive Daniels is acting in a movie
Winifred smiles with emotions, watching.
Vera walks in, crunching some crunchy chips – in a habitual funny way –
She sees Winifred smiling; Winifred stops smiling instantly. Vera looks at the TV, holding out the crunches to Winifred, Winifred hesitates at first but then picks some and chews.
VERA
Man, this guy is handsome and rich and I’m going to get him.
Winifred pauses her chew on the chips and looks up at her.
WINIFRED
Get him?
VERA
Yea, marry him.
WINIFRED
(resumes chewing)
Because he’s handsome and rich?
VERA
Of course, why else?
WINIFRED
(scoffs)
Vera, you are rich.
VERA
Which makes us perfect for each other.
(winks funnily)
Winifred is disturbed but composes herself.
WINIFRED
You know you’re sounding ridiculous right now?
VERA
(sits and faces her)
See Winnie, there’s something you don’t understand; people like us date people like them, marry people like them. We are rich he’s rich, 2+2 is 4. Who do you want me to date, some poor wretched man? No.
She squeezes her face babyishly in disgust.
WINIFRED
I didn’t say that but if you’re going to date or marry let it be for love not because he’s rich.
VERA
Okay.
(grins)
WINIFRED
(confused)
Okay?
VERA
Yea okay; if you will not listen to me then I will listen to you. All I know is I’m marrying that man no matter what.
(dips crunches into her mouth)
CRUNCHING SOUND
Winifred’s heart skips a beat, she frowns.
WINIFRED
And if he doesn’t want to marry you?
VERA
(chuckles; voiceless)
He will. Remember I said no matter what?
WINIFRED
And how are you going to meet him? You aint even in the entertainment industry, there’s a very slim possibility of you meeting him in this life; so how are you gonna do that?
VERA
(demonstrates emphatically)
We have money Winnie and money can do anything. Moreover God has a way of granting his favourites’ requests and anyone can meet any one in this life.
(smiles)
WINIFRED
You are scaring me Vera.
VERA
(laughs)
Oh common don’t be scared, I won’t get you my lovely cousin involved. This is all on me. Watch me sis.
(wry smile)
Winifred frowns in confusion, gazing at Vera who’s focusing on the TV. 

FEMALE V.O
Winifred loves Clive but she wouldn’t say a word about it to Vera cos she feels there’s no point if it’s only a dream. And Vera is ready to do anything to have him hoping for an opportunity; awaiting that day.
INT. ANTHONY OFFICE – DAY
Anthony is sitting at his desk, looking pissed.
A young man, ANDREW enters.
ANDREW
Sir, they’re gone.
ANTHONY
Oh good.
ANDREW
And the cargo is on the way too, for now it seems everything is fine and we have nothing to worry about.
ANTHONY
(not smiling)
Good Drew good.
Andrew notices his mood.
ANDREW
Is everything fine sir?
ANTHONY
(sighs)
No. I am pissed. I don’t know what she wants from me.
ANDREW
Who-- your wife?
Anthony looks at him and away.
ANTHONY
I do everything for her and she’s never satisfied. It’s like she’s possessed or something.
ANDREW
Is there something she did?
ANTHONY
She insisted I stay home today, apparently to rub her legs or what? And when I said no, she couldn’t but utter some bizarre words?
ANDREW
(chuckles lightly)
Can I tell you something sir?
ANTHONY
Yea sure.
Andrew pulls a chair and sits.
ANDREW
To be candid I see no reason you’re in the office today.
Anthony furrows at him.
ANDREW
Cos the things needed done don’t need your attention. So if I were you, I would have stayed back home and care for her; that’s what she needs now and that’s why you have us here. She is your wife and you just have to treat her like one.
Anthony ponders on his words like he’s heeding but then snaps out of it.
ANTHONY
No Drew, Tina is just intentionally bugging me! And if she doesn’t desist, I will divorce her!
ANDREW
(frowns)
I thought you loved her.
ANTHONY
(huffs)
That doesn’t give her the right to bug me. Do I have to die because I love someone?
Andrew watches him in bewilderment.
ANDREW
Love is sweet sir, don’t turn it sour with a careless attitude.
Anthony calms and blinks – the words got to him –
INT. WINIVE – DAY
Winifred is in her office, going through a newspaper with much focus.
IN THE PAPER –
CELEBRITY FAN DATE ADVERT, CLIVE DANIEL’S PICTURE AND FEW OTHER ARTISTES

DOOR BARGES OPEN, Winifred startles and immediately opens the paper to another page.
Vera hurries in happily with a newspaper in her hand.
VERA
I once said something; God has a way of granting his favourites’ requests.
(happy)
Have you seen it?

FEMALE VOICE
The movie industry decided to bring up a program called Celebrity Fan Date, where fans meet with their celeb and Vera sees this has an opportunity.

Vera gladly shows Winifred the Celebrity Fan Date advert page. Winifred furrows at it and looks up at her in confusion.
VERA
(grinning)
We are going.
WINIFRED
And how do you suppose we do that? I believe there’s going to be a vote or something to qualify.
VERA
(demonstrates happily)
Winnie, how many times will I tell you? We are rich in everything and there’s nothing money can’t do, especially not things like this.
(grins happily)
Winifred watches her funny cousin.
WINIFRED
You don’t love this guy.
VERA
And I will never love him but does it matter if I’m his wife?
WINIFRED
Marriage is not a joke.
VERA
Yes it is a status and I have to secure it no matter what? From now onwards call me, Miss Vera Clive Daniels.
(catwalks out of the room)
Winifred watches in silence and thumping heart.
WINIFRED
(tears clouded eyes; softly)
You don’t know what you’re doing Vera but you’re breaking my heart. I love this guy you wanna play with, I love Clive I love him so much.
She exhales; try stopping her tears from flowing.
INT. TINA HOUSE:BEDROOM – NIGHT
It’s midnight. Tina and Anthony are sleeping.
Tina is feeling restless finding it hard to sleep. After some minutes of rolling in bed, she finally taps Anthony.
TINA
Tony, Tony.
Anthony wriggles.
ANTHONY
Yes?
TINA
I want to take ice-cream.
ANTHONY
(bewildered)
What!
