The Actor

INT. WINIVE – BULL PEN - CONTINUOUS

The workers walk out of the conference room into a large bull pen then to their various offices.

Four out of them – two men and two ladies — are gossiping.

WORKER #1

What’s wrong with your bosses and Clive Daniels?

Others laugh, one of the male worker#4 just smiles and listens.

WORKER#2

They are in love with the guy, the guy too handsome na.

WORKER #3

Love kwa? That Vera no be love, that one na lust. She’s just lusting over his money but I pity Winnie cos she’s in love. 

WORKER#2

But they are rich, she should just find a way to meet and tell him.

Workers 1&3 look at him in surprise.

WORKER #1

There’s something called woman’s dignity.

(snaps)

And there’s no dignity in that!

The ladies start to walk away.

WORKER #2

(jests)

Dig what? I’m sorry for you, that’s how you lose out in mighty things.

The fourth worker furrows watching the ladies walk away and looks at worker #2

WORKER #4

Shouldn’t we have dignity too and stop wooing girls?

Worker #2 raises his brows at him in astonishment.

WORKER#2

(raises brows)

Huh?

(starts laughing)

Na we go suffer am pass. With this attitude of dignity they possess, you wan go dignity yourself too? You want to turn the world to gbim, standstill?

He shuns and freezes then starts laughing and walking away.

WORKER#2(CONT’D)

Dignity my ass, make I no toast women? If na rule, he no go work for me.

INT. WINIVE – CONTINUOUS

The lady workers are walking away.

WORKER#3

Clive is not even rich where his father is, I don’t care about Clive Daniels, I care about his father.

Worker #1 stops and looks at her in surprise.

WORKER#1

Shuuu?

WORKER#3

(cares less; shrugs)

Yeeann.

She walks into her office nonchalantly.

Worker #1 starts laughing and looks up at the sky.

WORKER #1

(laughing)

Yesua, you are watching this? Money!

She walks on shaking her head.

INT. TINA HOUSE – DAY

The living room shows a high class status.

TINA is pregnant; she sits on the couch watching TV.

A guy in SUIT AND BLACK SHADE stands at alert by a couch.

IN THE TV – ADVERT OF CELEBRITY FAN DATE

MEET AND DINE WITH YOUR FANS

THIS SEASON’S ARTISTS ARE -

CLIVE DANIELS, DON JAZZY, TIWA, OLAMIDE AND ADEKUNLE GOLD  

TO QUALIFY...

ANTHONY enters from the room with his briefcase and Tina looks back.

The guard collects the briefcase and walks out of the room; Anthony follows.

TINA

(struggles up)

Anthony?

Anthony stops and turns to her.

TINA

Must you go to work today? You don’t even have time for me, you don’t even know if I exist anymore. Today is Saturday at least stay home with us today.

ANTHONY

(cold)

Not now Tina, I was inside the whole time and you didn’t think you should say this until I was dressed and about to leave? What is wrong with you? I have to work to feed you, don’t I?

(turns to leave)

TINA

(about to cry)

You don’t love me anymore.

Anthony stops, then walks out of the room.

Tina inhales trying to stop herself from crying; she watches him leave.

CALIFORNIA, US

EXT. HOTEL – DAY

Clive Daniels drives into a massive hotel.

A guy is waiting outside; he seems relieved and happy seeing his car. He hurries towards Clive’s car.

Clive stops and steps out of the car. He’s tall and in a finely tailored GREY SUIT WITH LIGHT BLUE SHIRT which complements his light complexion.

The guy rushes to him.

GUY

Everyone is waiting.

CLIVE

Alright, let’s go.

They walk away.

EXT. BEACH – DAY

Clive and a lady NORA are at the beach. Clive holds the lady in his arms as they look at each other passionately in the eyes.

CLIVE

I have been looking; I looked everywhere just to get to you. I even thought at a time that I was wasting my time but then you came just as I was about losing hope. And now, I can’t be more thankful to God and you for coming into my life. I love you Vera I love you.

NORA

(giggles emotionally)

When I was experiencing some heartbreak; I didn’t know it was all because of you.

(giggles)

I had to go through them cos I had to meet you and now I’m the happiest woman in the world and I love you love you so much more Winter. If I have to come into this world again, I pray to God to be your woman over and over again.

They kiss.

DIRECTOR(V.O)

CUT!

Winter(Clive) and Vera(Nora) separate.

WE SEE THE CREW CARRYING CAMERAS AND ALL

DIRECTOR

(happy)

That was awesome Clive, Nora good one.

(thumbs up at Nora; to all)

Okay guys, let’s take 10.

The crew start loosening up for refreshments.

Clive starts walking away and his two personal assistants follow him.

Nora walks away to her assistants.

INT. HOTEL – NIGHT

Clive walks out of the bathroom into the room in his white robe, wiping his face with a towel.

DOOR BELL RINGS

He looks up and goes to the door. He checks the see through and opens.

One of his personal assistants BOSSLEY enters with a file

Clive walks back to the bed, Bossley follows

BOSSLEY

This is the document you requested for.

CLIVE

Okay, put it there.

Bossley places it on the stool by the bed and turns to leave.

CLIVE

Have you booked the ticket?

BOSSLEY

Yes I have.

CLIVE

Good cos I have to leave for Nigeria as soon as I finish this shoot. I don’t want any delays.

BOSSLEY

You have nothing to worry about sir.

CLIVE

Good.

BOSSLEY

Is there anything else you want?

CLIVE

No I’m okay, you can go have your rest now.

BOSSLEY

Have a good night rest sir.

CLIVE

You too.

Bossley leaves the room.
