INT. THE MARTINS:BEDROOM
WINIFRED
Vera, what did you tell Tina?
EXT. TINA HOUSE
VERA
Nothing; just told her you’re
coming like you said
INT. THE MARTINS
WINIFRED
(sad)
Oh no.
VERA(V.O)
What is it?
WINIFRED
You could have just told her I’m
not home or busy or something.
(babyishly)
She just commanded me to come now.
EXT. TINA HOUSE
VERA
Oh really? Well, I suggest you get
into your shoes now then
INT. THE MARTINS
WINIFRED
(grunts)
Ohhh okay.
EXT. TINA HOUSE
Vera laughs and disconnects. She
walks back to them
INT. THE MARTINS
Winifred stands and goes into the
bathroom.
EXT. TINA HOUSE
VERA
(to Tina)
You commanded her to come?
TINA
No, I gave her an option.
They laugh.
INT. THE MARTIN:BEDROOM – DAY
Winifred comes out of the bathroom wrapped
in her towel.
INT. BEDROOM LATER
Winifred is dressed up. She picks
her bag and walks out of the room.
EXT. ROAD - DAY
Winifred enters one of the cars in
the compound – Vera’s – and drives out of the massive compound.
I/E. CAR - DAY
There’s traffic.
Winifred is driving.
EXT. ROAD
A BLACK INFINITY
is driving down the road.
INT.
BLACK INFINITY
Clive is sitting at the owner’s
corner pressing his phone while the driver drives. The car starts slowing down,
Clive looks up
CLIVE
I hope that’s not hold up?
DRIVER
It’s go slow sir.
CLIVE
And there’s a difference?
The driver smiles, Clive is looking
out his window,
CLIVE
(shakes
head)
Nigeria.
EXT. ROAD
WE PAN TO SEE THE HOLD UP
Winifred gets into the go slow on the
other side of the road and Clive’s car. She’s approaching Clive’s car slowly.
I/E. CAR
Winifred murmurs complaints and
checks her wristwatch then she looks out the window.
I/E. BLACK INFINITY
Clive sees her and he’s taken by
her beauty instantly, he rolls his window down and stares at her as the cars
approach slowly.
Then he grabs his phone and SNAPS
her just as Winifred looks ahead and drives pass. He could only pick part of
her face.
Clive looks back at her and then
immediately looks at Winifred’s plate.
His driver watches him in the rear mirror.
DRIVER
You want me to park sir?
Clive looks at him and ponders; then
he looks back at Winifred’s car.
CLIVE
(looks up
and ponders)
No; drive on.
He looks at the picture on his
phone – he could only get part of her face – he gazes at it then smiles with
emotion.
INT. TINA HOUSE
Tina and Vera are sitting on her
bed, talking
TINA
Are you sure about this?
VERA
(smiles)
I’m certain I want this but I don’t
know about you.
TINA
You sure there won’t be consequences?
VERA
(giggles)
Don’t think about the consequences;
let’s deal with the issue on ground first.
TINA
This isn’t funny Vera.
VERA
Okay.
Vera squeezes her lips like a baby
and Tina chuckles seeing that.
TINA
Can you ever be serious about
something? This isn’t a joke.
VERA
(raises
brow)
I know and I’m serious.
They stare at each other. Tina
looks a bit scared but Vera’s carefree.
INT. CLIVE HOUSE – CONTINUOUS - DAY
Clive walks into the living room
looking around, dialling his phone, he listens.
CLIVE
Dad? I thought you said I’ll meet
you here. Where are you?
